Steering Committee Member

Help set Physician Innovator's direction. Steering committee members own a portfolio, such as programs, membership or chapters, and help run the organization.

About the role

The steering committee runs Physician Innovator day to day, working alongside the board. Members each own a portfolio and meet every two weeks to plan programming, review partnerships and support ambassadors.

What you’ll do

  • Own a portfolio such as Programs (Grand Rounds, Fireside Chats, Roundtables), Membership, Chapters or Operations
  • Plan and deliver initiatives in your portfolio with a small team of volunteers
  • Join committee meetings every two weeks and the annual planning session
  • Mentor ambassadors and help recruit new volunteers

What you’ll gain

  • Real leadership experience in a national, member-driven organization
  • Close working relationships with physician founders and the PI board
  • A say in how Canada’s physician innovation community grows

Who we’re looking for

  • Medical students, residents or physicians with some experience organizing teams, events or projects
  • Reliable and comfortable working asynchronously with a distributed team
  • Previous PI involvement, for example as an ambassador, is an asset but not required

How selection works

Apply with a short note on the portfolio that interests you most. Shortlisted applicants meet two current committee members. Terms usually begin in September.
