Specialty Series Writer
Research and write an article for the Specialty Series on the technologies and companies changing care in a medical specialty you care about.
About the role
The Specialty Series explains how innovation is reshaping individual specialties: the tools, the evidence and the companies behind them. Past articles cover dermatology, orthopedics, oncology, ENT, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. We want to cover every specialty.
What you’ll do
- Pick a specialty (or a new angle on one we’ve covered) with an editor from the content team
- Research two to four innovations in it, with real-world applications and references
- Write a 1,200–1,800 word article in the series format: a TL;DR, a section per innovation, and references
- Work through one or two rounds of edits
What you’ll gain
- A published, referenced article to put on your CV
- Practice reading the evidence behind health technologies critically
- Introductions to the founders and clinicians you write about, where it makes sense
Who we’re looking for
- Medical students, residents or physicians who write clearly
- Interested in a specialty and in the technology changing it
- Able to meet an agreed deadline
How selection works
Apply with the specialty you’d like to cover and, if you have one, a link to something you’ve written. An editor will reply within two weeks to agree a topic and timeline.
